形態特徵
- Subloosely tufted perennial with very short rhizome. Culms erect, 50-70 cm tall, slender, fewnodose, obtusely angular, smoothish.
- Leaves basal and few upper cauline and spaced, narrowly linear, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, subrigid, canaliculate to flattish, scabrid on mid-vein and along margins, gradually acute at apex; sheaths tightly surround.ing culm; ligule nearly wanting.
- Corymbs 2 or 3, as a rule solitary, rather spaced, branches slender, 2 to 4 cm long, more or less curved, subdensely to densely manyspiculose; bracteoles setaceous to scale-like. Spikelets lanceolate-ovate to ovate-elliptic, 3-4.5 mm long, weakly obcompressed, acute at apex, dark brown, 3 or 4-flowered, 1- or 2-fruited; glumes 6 or 7, ovate to broadly ovate, thinly chartaceous, 1-costate, contracted above to sharp, mucronate apex.
- Achenes broadly obovate, 2 mm long, biconvexed, subacute on edges, maturing brown, weakly transversely wrinkled with longitudinally oblong epidermal cells; base of style conical, ca. 1 mm long, tapering above to subobtuse apex; style filiform, 2-cleft. Hypogynous bristles 6, occasionally 7, slightly shorter than achene, filiform, brownish, upwardly scabrous.

- 台灣 : Wet grasslands and marshes.
- 世界 : As species widely spread into tropical and subtropical regions of both hemispheres. In eastern Asia range of subsp. <i>brownii</i> extends from India through southern continental China northeastwards to central Japan.
